Meet Mie: The Heartfelt Singer-Songwriter and Soulful Storyteller
Mie, the 27-year-old singer-songwriter and producer hailing from Milwaukee, is captivating audiences with her poignant originals and soul-baring storytelling. Born Maggie but just Mie on stage (pronounced "mEE"), she's a musical force to be reckoned with.
A Lifelong Passion:
Mie embarked on her musical journey at the tender age of seven when she took to the stage solo, armed only with her voice in an a cappella performance. This early introduction to performance set the stage for her artistic pursuits. She honed her skills through lessons in piano, voice, guitar, dance, and theater. Notably, Mie traveled the United States during her primary school years, participating in Kodály children's choral concerts, which enriched her artistic sensibilities.
A Cathartic Journey:
As Mie delved deeper into her artistic pursuits, she found solace in songwriting and performing as a means to process the emotional weight of childhood trauma and the subsequent estrangement from her family. This journey of healing and self-discovery is evident in her heartfelt originals, including "Daddy Issues," "Mine," and "Too Much."
Musical Influences and Versatility:
Mie draws inspiration from the lyrical prowess of 2000s songwriters such as Adele, Alicia Keys, and Taylor Swift. Her artistic vision spans across genres, encompassing electropop, blues, folk, and Americana, allowing her to craft music that resonates deeply with her listeners.
Alchemie EP:
In August 2021, Mie unveiled her debut release, the "Alchemie EP," featuring five tracks that blend influences from artists like Billie Eilish, Jessie Ware, and India.Arie Simpson. The EP quickly gained momentum, amassing over a thousand streams in fifty cities worldwide within its first month. Reflecting on her creation, Mie describes it as a culmination of life's lessons, a transformation of darkness into "beautiful liquid gold," reminiscent of the mystical philosophy of alchemy.

Mie's music journey has led her to remarkable milestones, including a performance at the renowned "World's Largest Music Festival," Summerfest (July 2023).
